Creek has completely changed since the 2010 Whitewater Baldy Fire. The astounding floods that followed the fire
has ripped this canyon and it’s trail to shreds.
Whitewater Creek flows west from Whitewater
Baldy, the highest peak of the Gila Wilderness. The Catwalk of the Whitewater Box Canyon used
to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. However since the major flooding that came as
a result of the Whitewater Baldy Fire... nothing has remained undamaged. Please inquire locally at the USFS office to
learn about which trails are open and/or closed.
