Cuba Falls

 

This nice 20’ high waterfall is on the Rio Puerco about three miles downstream from the town of Cuba, NM.

season- May- June is best, and anytime is okay…except irrigation does cause it to go dry sometimes.  Check the river flow at the bridges upstream.

accommodations- the town of Cuba, NM has the necessities

ownership- private land

access-  a short 100 yard walk involving - ducking under a fence and continuing upstream to the waterfall.

nearest town- Cuba is about 3 miles north of here

fun fact- the falls has an amazing 8’ high fence around it that does not say No Trespassing

Some young people, who are waterfall lovers, emailed this info in.  “Good job guys, this is a beautiful waterfall” …they say you can follow their foot-tracks.  But there is no access to the falls from Hwy 550.  You must drive around to the west side on Hwy 197.
