Catfish Falls

 

IF ANYONE HAS A PHOTO OF THIS WATERFALL PLEASE SAVE IT.  IT IS VERY VALUABLE, AS SANTA ROSA DAM HAS INUNDATED THIS WATERFALL.  CATFISH FALLS WAS THE ONLY NAMED WATERFALL IN NEW MEXICO THAT WAS ON A MAJOR RIVER,

BEYOND THE MOUNTAIN REGIN OF IT’S SOURSE.  PLEASE SEND US A COPY OF ANY PHOTO OF CATFISH FALLS……!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

height- …..was about 15 feet high… falling sheer over a layer of bedrock.

elevation- 4660’

GPS coordinates- ±35°03.360’N 104°41.308’W

flow- the Pecos River

season- probably never again in America’s time

accommodations- water-skiing…. On the surface above.

ownership- the waters of Santa Rosa Reservoir

access- scuba diving and who knows how deep the silt has heaped up on top of it.

nearest town- Santa Rosa is about 10 miles south of here

fun fact- …nuthin’ funny about loosing Catfish Falls
