Rio Guadalupe Box

...not a real slot canyon but has mandatory swims between sheer walls

ACA Canyon Rating – 1C III

Upper Guadalupe Falls is 35’ high and has two tiers.  The upper tier is about 15’ and the lower tier about 20’ ...one of my favorite waterfalls.  Resent heavy rains had made the Rio Guadalupe waters brown in these photos.

The Guadalupe Box Canyon is amazing below the falls.  Some of the sheer walls lean out over the river.  Parts of the falls can be seen in the upper-middle portion of this photograph.

essay bro

Rio Guadalupe Box is extremely beautiful… but it is not for the faint-of-heart… however… very close to the road.  The entire canyon is about 4 miles.
