Ancha Canyon has a ¼ mile long SLOT section with more steep canyons upstream... some flowing springs... and a  fine natural arch: Ancha Arch 20’H x 10’W in the upper end on the south side

Canada Ancha has a superb quarter-mile long section of slot canyon with more steep canyons upstream.  However it is quite difficult to access.  Faint and rarely ever used 2-track 4WD roads, come within a mile but they are often blocked by locked gates.  Ancha is a spanish word that means “wide”...but the slot canyon must not have been considered in the naming process.  Canada Ancha does get very wide downstream from here.

Ancha Slot can be added to the 15-mile Tapia-Puente hike described in the fore going pages.  But if you do add Ancha to that 15 mile, Tapia- Puente Canyon hike, you best figure an extra 5 miles more.
